April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and this year we’re raising money for the Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA)! The Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA) is a survivor-led nonprofit that prevents sexual violence systemically by revolutionizing policy, research, and institutions.
POLICY
The SVPA advocate for legislation to prevent sexual violence on a local, state, and national scale. Recently, they testified before the Department of Education advocating for the prevention of campus sexual assault via Title IX. Also, they've drafted a policy for K-12 schools that prevents child abuse and future perpetration of sexual violence.
RESEARCH
The SVPA uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, and statistical analysis to generate groundbreaking research insights for sexual violence prevention. This research is put into action via their legislative advocacy and by providing colleges, companies, and other institutions with best practices for preventing sexual violence.
INSTITUTIONS
The SVPA invented the first and only assessment for campus sexual violence. SVPA Scores are widely publicized which empowers prospective students to select the school that will best protect them. It also encourages universities to improve protections for sexual assault and rape. Soon, the SVPA Score will be expanded to assess companies, businesses, and other workplaces.
